I bought my first ev3 set. I was searching for the things that were already build with an ev3 and I saw this little ev3 robotic arm. I was inspired by that idea and I was thinking about how does a real arm work? And I noticed that an arm has 3 hinge points: the shoulder, the elbow and the wrist. Because we have these 3 hinge points we can move freely in an area. So I started building with this idea. I noticed that I had to use a lot of gears to get that strength that I’m looking for. Then I mounted the arm on a base that can move forward and backwards with the medium motor. Then I had this other problem of that their needs to be a counter weight so I placed the ev3 brick behind the arm and it worked! I have building instructions click here to get them!
